David S. Allen, PE, Principal of Allen Consulting, LLC makes building systems work better. That means better results for less energy dollars. He listens to what clients need from their building environments and gets their buildings to meet those needs cost effectively.

David is a mechanical engineer with over 30 years experience making systems work from concept to retirement. When the building is being planned, he leads the engineering team to make sure the systems will deliver what the client expects. When it’s being built, he ensures it is built to perform well. He tests and tunes systems so they work right, new or old. When older systems can’t meet customer needs or cost too much to operate, he provides energy analysis and system designs to get the needed results. Systems he’s made better are at work in industrial, laboratory and commercial facilities used for biomedical R&D, biomedical products manufacturing, precision metalworking, and offices.

He is expert at integrating the operation and control of all building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, communications, and fire systems so they work well together. Expertise includes engineering industrial/laboratory piping, process controls, and HVAC for both comfort and health in commercial, industrial and laboratory environments. Experience includes low, mid and high rise buildings. With a BS in Mechanical Engineering from one of the top schools in the U.S., an MBA, and over 30 years of successes, David Allen excels at solving a broad range of complex problems for business owners.

David Allen is also skilled at resolving technical disputes between people, like landlords, tenants, contractors, suppliers, owners and government officials. If it is a facility related problem, he has probably solved it, led people to agree about it, or both.

Prior to founding Allen Consulting in 2000, David served Becton Dickinson as Director of Engineering and Program Management; NTN-Toyo as Manager, Engineering and Torrington (Part of Worldwide Ingersoll-Rand) as Plant Engineer.
